I was born with a very strong sense that life was both profound and mysterious. I longed to connect with something, I couldn’t quite reach, that seemed to exist on the periphery of my consciousness. Trying to break through and make contact with I knew not what, as a very young child, I created imaginary friends who lived in either end of London’s Tower Bridge. Once I learned how to read, I would spend hours searching for clues and revelations in the family’s collection of leather-bound fairy tales, classical novels and the King James’ Bible.

Since my earliest moments of existence in this life, I have known the beautiful and complex experience of sharing. My “twin” brother and I arrived in this world in truly unique circumstances. The extremely unlikely product of a phenomenon known as superfectation, we were conceived separately but delivered together on a day when high spirits and excessive drinking have made for many celebratory birthdays since.
